API 6D Check Valve Standard
Swing Check Valve API 6D
API 6D is the primary standard for valves used in pipeline service, including gate, plug, ball and check valves. Occasionally refinery and petrochemical purchasers will reference the more stringent testing requirements of 6D although the valve may have built under API 600, 602, 608 or 609 design criteria. API 6D covers the design, manufacture, testing, and documentation for pipeline ball, check, gate, and plug valves for pressure ratings up to ASME class 2500. The valve ends may be flanged or welding. If fluid can become trapped in the body cavity, then valves for both gas and liquid service must have a pressure relief. Actuators may be electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic.
Check Valve Pressure Rating
- Check Valve API 6D Class 150
- Check Valve API 6D Class 300
- Check Valve API 6D Class 600
- Check Valve API 6D Class 900
